Christmas Droppings

Five festive quackers have waddled their way into the hunting zone today. Ducky Upatree, Feather Christmas, Terry Turkey, Adduck and Mallard Billmore.

Adduck is an experiment in soothsaying.

Footless

Oh dear, I've lost my foot. Please help me find it. The case of the missing foot is on.

Sunday 8 November 2009

Another presidential duck.

Quackary Tealor, the double ducking twelth president of the United Quacks of America is unleashed on the unsuspecting public today.

Oh and for those seeking Dame Edna, here she is again (you can't keep this hussy down).

Making Hay

The Duck has been somewhat busy manufacturing hay, hence the recent paucity of ducks. However, today William Quackinley has minced his way into your gunsights. He's been shot before, so shoot the quacker again........

Monday 26 October 2009

Presidential Duck Trail

We've seen 2 presidential quackers secrete themselves in the hunt over the last few days. Watch out for another couple later this week......

Monday 19 October 2009

The Duck is Back, better than before.

Greetings,

Sir Duck has returned from his travels (although I've yet to unquack). I cannot say from where without giving away the answer to Flown the Coop (which I've now hinted in the forum).

One new duck released today: MC Quacker. Break it down.

Regards,
Duck.

Annual Migration

The Duck is off on his annual migration for the next two weeks. No further ducks nor any answers/hints for the duration.

A parting duck, "Flown the Coop" provides more detail......

The Almighty Duck

There is a rumour that the Almighty Duck has made his presence known within The Great Internet Duck Hunt. If you seek salvation on the Day of Quackening I would go and track him down. The Almighty Duck is not likely to present himself in the normal way.........

Monday 28 September 2009

Come fizzle my kizzle.

The Duck is not a fan of rap. However, due to a dispute with a local gang, the Duck has been forced to start the Quack Rap Trail. So far three quackers are in place with more planned.....

Wednesday 23 September 2009

Chop Chop

Yesterday saw the arrival of Duck Norris into the fray. This quacker is the world's second hardest (behind Osama). He's Missing in Action so go and find him. Go on.

No new ducks today but maybe another one tomorrow - the Duck will decide.....

Monday 21 September 2009

Ducks of Hazzard Growth

Today the latest addition to the Ducks of Hazzard trail: Rosco P Coldrake. To bag him, though, you will need to get past Bo, Luke, Boss and Daisy.....

Also, for those on the hunt for Dame Edna Duck here she is again.....

Saturday 19 September 2009

The Duck gives you Kak

Today the Duck has released the smooth sounds of Alexander O'Teal into the mix. He continues the music and numbers theme started by Elvis Duck with a Kakuro based clue. Feel free to criticize the Duck, he enjoys taking a beating.

Thursday saw Drake Gyllenhaal slip himself into one of the Luv a Duck trails. The Duck will remain valid as long as Jake and the spoon witherer continue to get it on.

Wednesday 16 September 2009

Harry Pochard

With the appearance yesterday of DrakeO Quackboy you may think we have the start of a Harry Pochard trail. Well, that may be the case - but not yet.

No ducks today but look out tomorrow for some fresh duckling blood.

Monday 14 September 2009

Black and White

Today sees the entry of the first black and white duck: Eider Lupino. To be found somewhere on the Luv a Duck trail.

A couple more ducks to be forcibly inserted during the course of the week......

Thursday 10 September 2009

The Weakest Duck

Yesterday Kirk Duckless made an appearance as a fork in the Luv a Duck trail. Personally, I hate WordKirks but there has to be one in any good Duck-based riddle website.

Today, the Duck auditioned for the Weakest Link (yes, they've lowered their standards and are allowing barnyard animals to audition), so in tribute Duck Robinson will be make an appearance in the very near future .....

Any clever duck suggestions, put them in the forum - go on. There may be a prize for the best and any I use will be credited.

Stuck on a Duck ReQuack

Based on some feedback from Duck Hunters the Duck has requacked the Stuck on a Duck forum to make the threads duck-specific. It has also been suggested that the Duck implements a private messaging service to allow hunter-to-hunter communication. This will take a bit of quacking but the Duck will add it to the list.

No new ducks today but more tomorrow. Still some ducks that nobody has discovered.....

Sunday 6 September 2009

What's Up Duck?

Over the next few days we'll see: completion of the Ducks of Hazzard, start of the Luvvie Trail and some lone ducks....

A fair amount of fresh hunting blood joined up today. The scent of dead duck is strong......

Dame Edna Duck Revisited

Hello possums, I'm back! You can't keep this Aussie duck down.

Friday 4 September 2009

A-Team Trail Complete

Right - the A-Team trail has been completed. Just need to finish off the Ducks of Hazzard and then throw in a few lonely ducks over the next few days.

Still only the few that are succeeding. The majority getting stuck/bored after a few ducks.... Hard is good though (as Mrs Duck is well aware).

Contemplating updating the answer logic to allow multiple answers and offer hints for those whose answers are close.

Tuesday 1 September 2009

The Duck is Back

After an extended weekend of whisky, walking, wintery Scottish weather and wondering the Duck is back in Blighty. Is Duck fat a good thing? Certainly makes decent roast potatoes.

Another trail started today: The Ducks of Hazzard; unlocked by solving Duck Rogers.

Trail continuation the remainder of this week.

Thursday 27 August 2009

Off

The Duck has ducked off until next Tuesday. No new ducks until then....

Wednesday 26 August 2009

Forums on their way

To encourage a community of self-help and duck debate, the duck forums will soon be arriving on the site. The Duck has built these himself (yes the Duck is male), so they will be basic in functionality.

Another Maestro trail duck to be added tomorrow, before the Duck heads off to our Northern neighbour for some Bank Holiday weekend moisture (yes the Duck lives in Britain).

Time for the Duck to drink a beer.

Monday 24 August 2009

Back from the Land O' Sheep

The Duck is back. Bruised, battered and torn; but back.

As a tribute to our impoverished Western neighbours today I launch the start of the Musical Maestro Trail (MMT). Wales created the greatest living beast of all time: Tom Jones. The MMT will be an ever-extending series of similarly blessed tunesters.

If you've solved Stevie Duck the trail is open for you........

Thursday 20 August 2009

Pause

No new ducks for a few days as the Duck is off to the land of leeks. However, the Spice Route was launched yesterday and a selection of user avatars are also now available (in My Profile section).

Some elusive "Invalid Viewstate" issues to resolve next week as well as some new challenging ducks.....

Sunday 16 August 2009

Dame Edna Duck

You may be here looking for Dame Edna Duck. If so, you've found her: Dame Edna Duck

New Locking Functionality Being Tested

Well the Duck has built the new locking functionality and is currently testing it. It will be uploaded over the weekend. At which point I can reduce the number of ducks upon initial visit to the website (as well as ensuring they are all easy enough to get people going). Each duck solved will then unlock one or more other ducks of varying degrees of difficulty.

I think you get the idea......

Next thing to build will be the option for hunters to select their own avatar (rather than having to upload their own picture).

Thursday 13 August 2009

Proposed Changes

Initial testing feedback has been mixed. Some are enjoying it and are hooked, others are finding it a little hard to get into. The Duck has decided therefore to implement some duck linking functionality. All new ducks released onto the site will be classed as easy. Completion of these easy ducks may then unlock another, harder duck. This harder duck then may unlock another duck etc.

The idea is that new visitors will mainly see easy ducks and by the time they are presented with harder ducks they will already be into the game...

Monday 10 August 2009

Quacks away.

The website is now up on the ether. It's early days with just a few Alpha testers checking out the mallards.

There are currently seven ducks that have been rather hastily embedded out there. The intention is to add to these with some better and more entertaining clues. All suggestions welcome. I suspect I will need to add some kind of forum to enable hints to be provided. The spoiler is the evil to be avoided.

I may even use this blog as a means of providing hints. Ask me for a hint if you need it.....

The Duck.
